He will continue Caponigro Public Relations Inc. and move its offices to Trion’s new headquarters when the company relocates in January 2019
TROY, Mich. – Trion Solutions, one of the nation’s largest Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) that small- to mid-sized businesses use to outsource their human resources, has named long-time public relations and marketing executive Jeffrey R. Caponigro in the new position at Trion Solutions of Executive Vice President-Corporate Communications and Marketing. It was announced today by Trion co-founder and President David L. Stone and Chief Operating Officer Craig Vanderburg.
Caponigro founded Southfield-based Caponigro Public Relations in 1995 and Caponigro Marketing Group (CMG) in 2002, and later folded CMG into Caponigro PR. Caponigro Public Relations will continue operating with Jeff Caponigro in the dual role as CEO of Caponigro PR and EVP-Corporate Communications and Marketing of Trion Solutions. Caponigro Public Relations will move from its current Southfield location to Trion’s new headquarters office when Trion relocates from offices in Troy to the new address at 888 W. Big Beaver Road building, which is adorned with two new large Trion logo nameplates.
Trion Solutions has been a client of Caponigro Public Relations for the past three years, and Jeff Caponigro has known the company’s principals since the 1980’s.
Trion Solutions manages payroll, benefits, health and workers’ compensation insurance, and regulatory compliance for more than 600 small- to mid-sized businesses throughout the United States with more than 40,000 client-company worksite employees. Trion has offices in Troy, Traverse City and Aventura, Fla., a suburb of Miami.

Caponigro, APR and PRSA Fellow, has a distinguished career as one of the United States’ top public relations professionals. He is Accredited in Public Relations and an inductee into the Public Relations Society of America’s prestigious College of Fellows. He was graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Journalism and English and was inducted into CMU’s Journalism Hall of Fame in 2009.
He served six years as a trustee on CMU’s Board of Trustees, including as its Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board. Caponigro is a former chairman of Metropolitan Affairs Corporation and a graduate of Leadership Detroit X. Caponigro PR was the world’s first PR firm to have earned ISO 9000: 2001 certification in 2004 and was named the same year by the Holmes Report as the nation’s top PR firm in “Client Service.”
He is the author of THE CRISIS COUNSELOR: A Step-by-Step Guide to Managing a Business Crisis (McGraw Hill-Contemporary Books), which is published in five languages and used in higher education and businesses around the world.
