Important fundraiser to help Hope Network serve more than 30,000 Michigan residents suffering physical, mental and social barriers that impact their lives
TROY, Mich. – Many charity golf outings are held each year in Michigan, but few are as important as the one that raises funds to help Michigan-based Hope Network continue to treat more than 30,000 people throughout the state who suffer physical, mental and social barriers that impact their lives. The Hope Network Golf Classic presented by Trion Solutions and hosted by former Detroit Lions’ placekicker Eddie Murray will be held on both golf courses at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., on Monday, August 13.
This will be the fifth Hope Network Golf Classic and the first year that Trion Solutions, a human-resources outsourcing company based in Troy, Mich., is the Presenting Sponsor. According to Murray, Trion’s participation has been a springboard to attract more than 200 golfers, who will play on the highly regarded Katke-Cousins and the R&S Sharf golf courses at Oakland University and help raise a total of $100,000 for Hope Network – approximately twice the amount raised by each of the four previous Hope Network Golf Classic events.
“It will be a spectacular and fun day of golf and friendship,” said Murray, who after 18 years as one of the National Football League’s most reliable placekickers is the Director of Donor Relations in southeastern Michigan for Hope Network. “The generosity of Trion Solutions – and the leadership by Trion President David Stone and Chief Operating Officer Craig Vanderburg – has been so much appreciated,” said Murray.
Trion Solutions, which manages payroll, benefits, health and workers’ compensation insurance, and regulatory compliance for more than 600 small- to medium-sized businesses in the United States, began supporting Hope Network in 2017 and decided to increase its support for 2018.
“In our work at Trion Solutions with hundreds of client businesses, we hear from them about the challenges their employees and families face in mental health – and we know that one of every five people in our country struggle with some sort of mental-health issue,” said Trion’s Stone. “All of us at Trion Solutions want to do our part to help Hope Network continue its amazing work in treating adults and children throughout the state of Michigan.”
Trion’s Vanderburg said, “I don’t know if there is a more important non-profit organization in our state than Hope Network and we are so thrilled to play a small part in its continued success in treating more than 30,000 people in the state of Michigan. And, the tireless work that Eddie Murray puts in to make the Hope Network Golf Classic such a fantastic event has been so inspiring.”
